Organization Info: Alpha Chi Omega's Founders chose "Alpha," the first letter of the Greek alphabet, because they were forming the first fraternity in the school of music. Since they thought they might also be founding the last such fraternity, "Omega" seemed appropriate. "Kai," meaning "and," was added to form the beginning and the end. "Kai" was soon changed to "Chi," a letter of the Greek alphabet. Alpha Chi Omega is a national sorority composed of 135 chapters.

Our Flower: Red carnation
Our Colors: Scarlet red and olive green
Our badge: Lyre
Our Symphony: "To see beauty even in the common things of life, to shed the light of love, and friendship round me; to keep my life in tune with the world that I shall make no discords in the harmony of life; to strike on the lyre of the universe only the notes of happiness, of joy, of peace; to appreciate every little service rendered; to see and appreciate all that is noble in another, be her badge what it may; and to let my lyre send forth the chords of love, unselfishness sincerity. This is to be my symphony."

Our open motto: "Together let us seek the heights"

Originally founded as a music sorority.

Alpha Chi Omega has many slogans, but most impressionable is: Real. Strong. Women. Our philanthropy is domestic violence awareness, prevention, and education. Our symbol is the lyre to reflect our heritage as a musical sorority and our flower is the Red Carnation. We celebrate multiple milestones throughout the year including our Founder's Day (October 15, 1885), MacDowell Month (Celebrate's Our Musical Heritage), and Hera Day (Day of service). Alpha Chi Omega does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, sexual orientation, or religion. Membership in Alpha Chi Omega is based solely on five membership standards. The National Membership Standards are: 1] academic interest; 2] character; 3] financial responsibility; 4] leadership ability; 5] personal development. Alpha Chi Omega is a national sorority composed of 132 chapters.

Organization Info: Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on January 2, 1897 at Barnard College in New York City, when friends Stella George Stern Perry, Helen St. Clair Mullan, Elizabeth Heywood Wyman, and Jessie Wallace Hughan all pledged themselves to one another in the Columbia Law Library. Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on the ideals of character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. All members of the Fraternity, collegiate and alumnae, are expected to live these values to the fullest and carry the spirit of AOII into the world around them. In 1905, Alpha Omicron Pi became the 12th member organization to join the National Panhellenic Conference. Today, there are over 140 collegiate chapters across the US and Canada. Rather than a crest or shield, Alpha Omicron Pi is represented by an infinity rose.

Symbols of Alpha Omicron Pi:

Our Tagline: Inspire Ambition

Our Badge: A-O-II superimposed with a ruby at the apex of the A.

Our Color: Cardinal- a deep red.

Our Jewel: The ruby.

Our Flower: The 19th Century French rose, Général Jacqueminot, a deep red rose, was chosen as the flower of Alpha Omicron Pi because its color is the symbol of the central and essential virtue of the Fraternity.

Our Mascot: The Panda is AOII's mascot. The panda was chosen because panda’s have no natural enemies.

Organization Info: Delta Gamma was founded in 1873 in Oxford, Mississippi, at the Lewis School for Girls by three young women who were unable to go home for the Christmas break. Together, Anna Boyd, Mary Comfort and Eva Webb created a club of "mutual helpfulness." They chose the Greek letters Delta and Gamma because of their desire to "Do Good." It remains Delta Gamma's motto today and a driving force in all we do.
Delta Gamma is a sisterhood built on a commitment to making the world better through not only service, but also a deep appreciation for each individual. What started with three women in Oxford, Mississippi, has since grown into an international Fraternity with 150 collegiate chapters and more than 215 alumnae groups. Delta Gamma's sisterhood continues to inspire women through the values that were built into our very first Constitution. Article II, written by our Founders in 1873, states:

"The objects of this Fraternity shall be to foster high ideals of friendship among women, to promote their educational and cultural interests, to create in them a true sense of social responsibility and to develop in them the best qualities of character." While the Constitution spells out the values of a Delta Gamma woman in Article II, you can't tell the story of Delta Gamma without speaking of hope.
The original pin of the Fraternity was the letter "H," which the Founders meant to stand for hope. A few years before she died, Founder Mary Comfort Leonard described the first pin:

"We went to a local jeweler and had our pin made-the letter 'H,' which stood for hope, for we hoped great results and have not been disappointed…" - The Shield

Delta Gamma Fraternity does not discriminate in its membership selection on the basis of race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, color, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, physical disability or other characteristics protected by state, provincial or federal law. Membership is open to all individuals who identify as women. Those selected for membership in Delta Gamma must have good scholarship, be of good character and standing, have an interest in activities that will enhance the academic atmosphere at the college or university, and have a sincere desire to contribute to the work of Delta Gamma.

All efforts are in place to guarantee those selected for membership in Delta Gamma have good scholarship, are of good character and standing, have an interest in activities which will enhance the academic atmosphere at the college, university or community, and have a sincere desire to contribute to the work of Delta Gamma. The Executive Offices will continue to work with the individual chapters to ensure that all policies and procedures are followed at all times
